Frog 100 MK.1 (1947)

The FROG 100 MK.1 was a 1cc diesel engine produced by International Model Aircraft Ltd. (IMA) based in Merton Surrey England. The engine was introduced in late 1947 and was the second engine produced by FROG the first being the spark ignition 175 notably the FROG 100 MK.1 was FROGs first diesel engine and was based on the 175 design attributed to George Court.

The FROG 100 MK.1 remained in production until mid 1947 when it was replaced by the improved FROG 100vMK.2 which was designed with a modified cylinder retention system in order to be less physically fragile and a steel liner to decrease cylinder wear rates.

Capacity 0.996 cc (0.061 cu in) - Bore 9.525 mm (0.375 in) - Stroke 13.97 mm (0.550 in) - Power 0.057 BHP 8150 RPM (0.0425 KW) - Induction Front rotary valve - Ignition Diesel (compression ignition) - Piston Liner Meehanite iron piston Meehanite iron liner - Crankshaft thread 2BA (left handed thread) - Weight 88.6 g (3.125 oz)
